Hiring Best Practice:  Don’t wait to make that candidate an offer!

With high unemployment, you may think that you can wait to make that candidate an offer.  Don’t make that assumption! Time and again, we have seen hiring managers wait to extend an offer or, even make a low ball offer to a great candidate, thinking that they have room for negotiation.  This can be a big mistake.

Today’s Markets are Competitive

In the business markets we serve, we are seeing candidates, even passive candidates, being actively solicited and having multiple employment options. If the candidate is an A-player, rest assured that your competitors are also talking with that candidate.

Our advice? If you interview a great candidate, be ready to move quickly to secure that candidate for your position. Don’t wait to make an offer. And, make a competitive offer, right off the bat.
